The plasma power supply stops (1-phase models)

The 200 V – 240 V CSA/CE/CCC 1-phase plasma power supplies have over voltage protection on the power switch that is supplied by a mechanical trip coil. If voltage from the incoming circuit is more than the maximum voltage, the trip coil sets the power switch to OFF (O).

The system energized the trip coil, or the power switch is defective

If the plasma power supply stops operating and goes OFF on its own, do these steps to identify if the power switch must be replaced.

  1. Set the power switch to OFF (O), and disconnect the power cord from the power source.
  2. Set the power switch to ON (I).
The images shows the 1-phase power switch in the ON position.
  3. Does the power switch stay in position? OptionDescription
If yes... The trip-coil mechanism is operating correctly.
If no... Replace the power switch. Refer to Remove the power switch (1-phase). The trip coil connects to the component side of the power Printed Circuit Board (PCB) at J10.
