Install the power cord (3-phase models)

For these steps, refer to Components of the 3-phase power cords.

  1. Put the strain relief into place in the rear panel.

    Tighten the inner nut to 9 N∙m (80 lbf·in).

  2. Loosely tighten the outer nut onto the strain relief.
  3. Pass the power cord wires through the outer nut and the strain relief:
    • CSA models (kit 428665): Take the end of the cord terminated with ring terminals. Pass it through the outside end of the strain relief into the rear panel. Orient the power cord so the green ground wire is below the other 3 wires, closer to the bottom of the rear panel.
    • CE/CCC models (kit 528147): Take the end of the cord opposite the toroid. Pass the wires through the strain relief from inside of the rear panel. Pull the cord through the strain relief until the toroid end of the cord reaches the strain relief. Do not remove the toroid from the new power cord.
  4. Make sure there is enough wire length inside the unit to reach the power cord connection points.

Tighten the outer strain relief nut to secure the cord.

  5. Complete the following procedures:
    1. Attach the rear panel.
    2. Install the component barrier.
    3. Install the plasma power supply cover and handle.
    4. Reconnect the gas supply.
    5. Reconnect the power cord.
